A true therapy horse is rare and the connection they create is priceless. At Exceptional Equestrians, we consider our horses to be more than tools, they are partners. We take their health and well-being very seriously. It costs $3,500 per year to feed, house, and care for each of our 15 therapy horses. When you sponsor an Exceptional Equestrians therapy horse, you are supporting a critical member of our therapy team.

    Cookie is a Haflinger mare with a long blonde mane. As her name implies, she is sweet and she also loves snacks. Cookie has done a number of things before joining EE, including trail riding, driving, and working as a lesson horse.

    Ojala is a Pony of the Americas gelding registered as RL Equity at Last. He has a unique leopard Appaloosa spotted coat pattern. Ojala’s petite size makes him a perfect fit for our younger clients.

    Annie is a black and white Paint mare. Annie works with a select number of our advanced riders, and in our Taking the Lead program.

    Rajah is a Percheron/pony cross gelding. He has been nicknamed Fabio around the barn because of his long thick mane. Rajah’s short height and stocky build make him a great fit for a variety of riders.

    Jenna is a Morgan/Welsh pony cross mare, also known as Jenna Be A Star. As the smallest horse in our program Jenna is perfect for some of our youngest riders.

    Jenna is generously leased from Richelle Bloemer.

    Penelope is a grey Thoroughbred mare, and her registered name is Wicked Patty. Penelope was a racehorse in her younger years, but now enjoys a slower pace working in our hippotherapy and adaptive riding programs.

    Magic is a black Percheron mare. She is a sweet, compassionate horse who tries her hardest for her riders. Magic works in our hippotherapy and adaptive riding programs.

    Froya is a dun Norwegian Fjord mare, and her registered name is Cheyenne’s Froya. Froya’s petite size makes her a great fit for our younger clients.

    Froya is generously leased from Cheyenne Keyes.

    Tia is a Norwegian Fjord mare who displays the sturdy build and calm temperament typical to her breed. Her strength and width provide a great stretch for our riders and make her ideal for bigger riders. Tia works in all our programs.

    Maverick is a black Arabian gelding. Maverick has an active walk that provides excellent movement for our clients and is a favorite of riders and volunteers alike. Maverick works in all our programs.

    Cowboy is a bay quarter pony gelding. He is a petite size that is great for our younger clients. Cowboy works primarily in our hippotherapy program.

    Cowboy was generously donated from Chad and Amy Leverson.

    Glory is a black Percheron mare. Glory is a gentle giant who works in our hippotherapy and adaptive riding programs.

    Levi is a bay draft cross gelding. He is a tall, friendly guy, and works in our hippotherapy and adaptive riding programs.

  • Oakie

    Born: 2002
    Joined EE: 2016
    Oakie is a palomino Quarter Horse gelding. His short height makes him a popular horse with our younger clients. Oakie works primarily in our hippotherapy program.

  • Fanny

    Fanny is a brown miniature donkey, and her registered name is Cyder’s Fanny May. Fanny participates in our groundwork programming and loves welcoming new visitors to the farm.

  • Fernando

    Fernando, aka Ferd, is a grey miniature donkey. He loves attention and plenty of petting. He can be a talkative guy and enjoys welcoming visitors to the facility. Ferd works in our Taking the Lead program and as our unofficial farm greeter.
